With over two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Sherman provides comprehensive medical and primary eye care with a commitment to excellence and individualized patient care. Her clinical expertise includes the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of a wide range of ocular diseases, including dry eye disease, glaucoma, conjunctivitis, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration, as well as numerous other anterior and posterior segment disorders.
Dr. Sherman has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease, utilizing the latest diagnostic technology and advanced therapeutic options, including punctal plug insertion, amniotic membranes to dry eye management and customized treatment plans designed to improve ocular comfort and long-term ocular surface health. She also provides comprehensive glaucoma evaluation and management to help preserve vision through early detection, advanced diagnostic testing, and individualized treatment strategies.
In addition, Dr. Sherman has extensive experience in the diagnosis and removal of corneal foreign bodies and is proficient in the medical management of ocular disease, including the prescription of therapeutic ophthalmic medications when clinically indicated.
Beyond medical eye care, Dr. Sherman performs comprehensive eye examinations, precise refractive evaluations, and advanced contact lens fittings, including specialty contact lenses for patients with unique visual needs. Laurie is the Manager of Village Optical. She has been with Village Optical for over 5 years and has contributed a ton to the growth of the company. She oversees daily operations as well as does all the buying and merchandising of the store’s goods. Coming from a fashion background as a graduate of F.I.T. Laurie has styled hundreds of patients with the perfect pair of glasses. Laurie is also responsible for overseeing daily operations and works closely with patients to aid them in finding the right pair of eyeglasses for their needs.

Munira has been with Village Optical for three years. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Gujarati, making it easier to diversify our client base. She also speaks a little bit of Punjabi. Our easy-going and friendly environment allows her to have a more personal experience with our clientele. Munira studied at Citi Tech for Ophthalmic Dispensing. She lends a hand in overlooking all of our daily operations. Munira will be able to assist you with our products, insurances, and services.
